Dometic announces winners of $100,000 ultimate travel experience



Three lucky couples were chosen today to act as Ambassadors for leading leisure products company, the Dometic Group in their ‘Follow The Sun’ promotion

Handpicked from over one thousand entries nationwide, Ross and Lorraine Turner from Pine Mountain, Queensland; Tony and Sue Hammond from Westlake, Queensland; and Jay and Dianne Goncalves from Berwick, Victoria have each won approximately $35,000 in prizes including a 13-week expenses paid road trip around Australia, plus a complete makeover of their own caravan with a range of luxurious Dometic and WAECO products.

Discover Downunder Host and former Olympian Brooke Hanson today announced the prize winners at the NSW Caravan, Camping, RV and Holiday Supershow inviting the three couples to share in the wonders of travelling Australia while showing off their new Dometic appliances to fellow travellers. Each couple will now have their caravan or camper trailer refitted with a deluxe range of Dometic and WAECO products before starting their winner’s adventure tour on 13 June 2010 following the Brisbane Caravan and Camping Show.

The Turners and their two children, Jacob, 11 and Ella, 6, will embark upon a tropical adventure through Queensland; the Hammonds will journey through three states; and the Goncalves’ will take a rivers, lakes and bush tour of New South Wales.
On their tropical adventure tour through Queensland, the Turners will start in Brisbane and then head north to the Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay, and Bundaberg up to the Capricorn Coast. They will then stay northward bound to Cairns before heading back south on an inland route, passing through Charters Towers, Emerald, Cania Gorge and head back to the Gold Coast.

The Hammonds on their journey through three states will depart from Adelaide and travel to the Claire Valley and along the Murray to Mildura whilst visiting the fruit growing areas. They will then head to Bright in the Great Dividing Range of Victoria’s high country before continuing onto Gundagai, the coast to Eden, Merimbula and Bateman’s Bay. They will then carry onto Sydney before heading back to the Gold Coast.

On their rivers, lakes and bush tour of New South Wales, the Gonclaves’ will commence their tour in Brisbane before heading south to the northern New South Wales coast visiting the river heads and lakes through to Sydney. From there they will go inland through Forbes, Dubbo, Tamworth, Gunnedah and Narrabri and then back to the Gold Coast.

All keen caravanning and camping enthusiasts, each couple will promote Dometic’s products by meeting other travellers and locals and entertaining them at happy hours along the journey. The couples will also post regular blogs of their adventures at:
