Dometic Marine, the world-leading supplier of marine air conditioning and sanitation equipment, has launched a new series of online videos to provide boaters with fast and convenient access to its latest product information and technical advice. The company launched the new videos in recognition of the increasing importance of social media as a vital tool for reaching target audiences directly. The new online videos complement Dometic Marine’s traditional, printed promotional material as well as its existing marketing activity, including the company’s attendance of trade and consumer shows.
Three video categories have been launched. ‘Marine Product Introductions’ offer viewers a short overview of new technology. ‘Expert’s Corner’ features face-to-face interviews on how products work with mini-installation guides presented by Dometic Engineers & Experts. ‘Tech Tips’ provide support and advice on topics such as ‘Do’s & Don’ts’ and product maintenance.
“We recognise that today’s buyer is looking for snapshot information and video is an effective tool for delivering information and engaging customers. We’ve developed short, easy-to-watch and informative videos that enable customers and other interested parties to quickly access product information as well as tap into our expertise and knowledge without spending a lot of time searching or reading. In addition, the online videos let viewers see the faces of our highly experienced engineers and technical teams, all at the click of a button,” comments Doug Curtis, Director of Marketing, Dometic Marine.
The growth in popularity of social media websites such as ‘YouTube’ and ‘Twitter’ has changed the way consumers look for and wish to receive information. This trend has been acknowledged by successful businesses globally, with 50% of the Global Fortune 100 companies using YouTube as a platform for communicating with their target audiences and 20% of the companies using all four social media platforms, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Corporate blogging.
