Dometic Marine launches new self-sealing quick-connect fittings for its Adler/Barbour ColdMachine and SuperColdMachine refrigeration kits at this year's IBEX. The new fittings are easily and quickly connected to the refrigeration system's evaporator and condenser, ensuring easy maintenance of the refrigeration system and providing increased flexibility for boatbuilders and owners.
In contrast to traditional 'one-shot' fittings, Dometic Marine's new self-sealing, quick-connect fittings and hoses can be disconnected and reconnected as often as required without losing refrigerant or exposing the system to air and moisture. This enables the boatbuilder or owner to easily alter the ColdMachine Kit's position on the boat, in accordance with layout specifications or individual requirements. In addition, the quick-connect and self-sealing application ensures easy maintenance of ColdMachine Kits, as parts can be replaced without difficulty.
Dometic has also developed an adapter kit for older style condensing units and evaporators that will allow either component to be connected to the new quick-connect fittings.
Dometic Marine's Adler/Barbour ColdMachine and SuperColdMachine Kits are available for OEM, professional retrofit or DIY installation and provide exceptional refrigeration onboard. Durable and robust, the ColdMachine and SuperColdMachine cooling units offer unmatched cooling performance in hot and humid conditions, even with erratic or low voltage and continuous use.
Two configurations of the refrigeration units are available. The CU-100 ColdMachine is air-cooled for general boating application. The CU-200 SuperColdMachine is air and water-cooled, providing refrigeration for boats sailing in tropical waters. Both ColdMachine and SuperColdMachine use R134A environmentally safe refrigerant and are powered by Danfoss BD50F compressors to provide up to 15 cu. ft. (424 liters) of refrigeration. The systems are operable with a wide range of Dometic's 100 series evaporators.
Adler/Barbour ColdMachine and SuperColdMachine cooling kits with the new quick-connect, self-sealing fittings are sold through the Dometic distribution channels.
