Dometic Marine, a division of the Dometic Group outlines its plans for the forthcoming Dometic Group VIP Gold Star Service Plan, a web-based maintenance program for all of Dometic's chilled water air conditioning systems which include Condaria, Cruisair® and Marine Air brands.
Vessel owners, skippers or management companies can enroll their yachts into the VIP Gold Star Service which will ultimately become a comprehensive online log of the vessel's originally specified HVAC system. Equipment service and maintenance history can also be recorded online following actions taken by Dometic's certified service technicians. Engineers will be able to access the information and make recommendations for trouble-shooting, improving or upgrading the system as superior components are introduced.
A complimentary 'Chiller System Check' will be offered annually and timely reminders for other key service dates will be issued via email, text or phone.
Ned Trigg, Senior Vice President, Global Marine Sales at Dometic Marine, said, 'We know this market. Our current global network of dealers and service engineers is a valuable resource for superyachts that demand and expect an enhanced level of service. The VIP Gold Star Service is a natural extension of the support that we offer to vessels fitted with Dometic systems.'
He continued, 'Owners who enroll in our new VIP Gold Star Service Plan effectively receive a virtual log-book for their air conditioning system. This can be accessed from anywhere at any time, by anyone involved in maintaining, servicing or refitting the on-board system. It should provide swifter and more cost-effective problem solving for such a vital piece of equipment.'
The provision of quality air protects the welfare of crew and guests as well as the efficient functioning of sensitive on-board electronic systems and equipment. Within the Gulf region the system must perform at an optimum level as due to the strong sun and high temperatures owners and guests remain inside the vessel for long periods of time. When doors are opened incoming air is salt and moisture laden and of high humidity.
Furthermore as the vessel's documentation and service history is held 'virtually', the data will easily remain with the vessel through any ownership changes it may undergo. 'For brokers, charter companies and OEMs this will be a huge asset moving forward and for vessels that travel extensively this will offer a real service solution' adds Trigg.
Registration is available now and the process of data inputting of each vessel's system and equipment details will take place during March and April.
Dometic Marine and Mantech are attending the Dubai International Boat Show on Stand ESS-E1-2 and are available to discuss the VIP Gold Star Service Plan as well as the broad range of available products and system solutions.
