How does a solar system charge my battery-batteries?
A solar system is a battery charging system like any other battery charger system (alternator or shore powered battery charger). The big difference is that the charging energy comes from the daylight. The actual charging capacity is depending on the daylight. Capacity is indicated in Wp (Watt peak), that means the maximum capacity during a certain time of the day (is standardized).
Rule of Thumb: To maintain the charge of an on-board battery 95 Ah, you should plan for a solar system with approx. 100 W.
